PBE -The Buell Meeting

A great Rock´n Roll Raceweekend for the friends not only of Racing the Buells lies behind us, wow -what great 4 days! More than 200 Buellriders from 11 different countries, including USA, visited the event over the weekend and celebrated with Erik Buell and us the Twins from East Troy / Wisconsin. While in Cologne the Intermot stucked in depression we showed the world, that the spirit of the American Sportbike is more than ever alive.

Buell Custombikes that battle on the racetrack for positions in the Pegasus Buellexperience races, an EBR 1190 RR-B that took the Sound of Thunder Championship and a Superbike victory, multi podiums of Pegasusraceteamriders in the supportraces and all that in best summerweather.

The comment of an fellow Ducatiracer nailed it: “It´s amazing, a year ago they took the brand to the grave and than you dominated this season in a way a bike, rider and team never dominated before. All these Buellriders and -racers this weekend here are a true benefit for the event and the races”.

PBE -The Dinner with Erik Buell

At Saturdaynight we had a nice Dinner with Erik Buell at the Skylounge on the roof of the Motorsporthotel. Originally limited to 55 persons we needed to extend the guestlist to 80 people. It was a bit tough inside, but we all had a great time with nice food and a lot of very good conversations about Buell and the future of Erik Buell Racing roadbikes. Highlight of the evening was the presenting of the trophys to the winners of the custombikecontest by Erik Buell. Teamowner Thomas Wanner honored Mr. Erik Buell as the constructor, Harald Kitsch as the rider and the Pegasusracetam Teammembers for their engagement with a special memoryaward for taking the 2010 Sound of Thunderchampionship with the EBR 1190 RR-B.

PBE -The Entertainment

One of the real specials of the german Biketobefest is the daily music. It started on Thursdaynight in the tent with the “Nashville Suckers” performing an extra kind of Country AND Western. Topact of the weekend was on Friday the “Black Angels” with special guest Mr. Erik Buell who had a great fun playing with them the authentic 80´s rock. Saturday after lunch the original “Pirker Blechmusi” started their walks through the Paddock with the Brassorchestra to give an introduction for the performance of the night in the tent. You don´t know what you missed, til you hear for the first time “Highway to Hell” performed in brass! Also the Sunday had a musical highlight, very cool to see the “Pipes & Drums of Brunswik” walking in formation through the paddock.

The Buell tubeframeriders gettin on Saturday in the Acecafé Reunionlap a free lap around the track, on Sunday in the lunchbreak the 6-times german Champion and European Recordholder Stefan Graff made a schowrun with the HBM / M-TeK Dragster.

PBE -The Buell Trackday

The idea of a Buell Trackday at Oschersleben Racetrack was originally invented from former Buelldealer Volker Schirmer. With the end of the Buell by H-D aera also this Trackday was history. Pegasusraceteam in cooperation with Art-Motor had brought this idea to new live. It was a hard and expensive decission, because in that Trackdaybusiness it count all or nothing. So Teamowner Thomas Wanner overtook the financial risks for the necessary tracktime and organization needed for an succesful event. 3 skilled Instructors, Robin Taborsky, Dirk Mothes & Stefan Solterbek coached the Buellriders on Thursday and Friday in 3 different groups the Oschersleben racetrack and the fast ride. It was great to watch the progress of the riders and to hear their absolute happy comments. A badly broken leg in the final free turns was not nedded, but things like that happen if you are searchning for your personal limits, all the best from the Pegasusraceteam to the “Red Baron”.

PBE -The Buell only Races

Fun at the Track with respect about the other Buellers out there and loads of pure adrenaline, that was the Buell only race at the Pegasus Buell Experience 2010. While Erik Buell was talking in an interview live from the tower, the boys (and the 1 girl) where battling out there like the big guys.

PBE -The Buell Custombikeshow

Not everybody is about Racing interested. So we brought the good old Tradition of an Buell Custombikecontest to the Trackday. But how close Racing and Customizing could be, you find out when you watch the pictures, the Nr. 2 in the XB class had the transponder still on the bike when he enter direct from the track the contest.

PBE -The Buell Racetaxi

Teams Racetaxi “The Crazy Cab” had the rollout at the Biketoberfest. Harald enjoyed to pilote our first 5 guests for some laps in racespeed around the track. The girls absolute loved it, sure something the team will build out for 2011.

PBE -The Pegasusraceteam Biketoberfestresults

Oh yeah.... our Team raced too! And not too bad! Robin rode his personal best laptime and finished both races on the podium and got 3rd in the Pro BEARS championship 2010. Manni had a great 2nd finish in the Pro Thunderrace and Harald took in all 3 races he started with the EBR 1190 RR-B the victory.

We are a raceteam not an eventpromoter, without the good eleves we couldn´t have done it.

Thanks to everybody who made it happen. The Buellers from XBORG, all in front “Mr. Streetbastard” Norbert, one word and they just have fixed the things when needed. Claudia, without your jump into the cold water it would not be the same, very succesful, event.

The named and unnamed Teammembers and supportes who fixed at the weekend and before the bikes and organization and Thomas for living the vision of a strong Buellcommunity.

PBE -2011 ?

There is a chance to make the Pegasus Buell Experience an institution at the german Biketoberfest and see it happen again 2011 if a financial basement could be found that the event need no subvention. After the 2010 succes everybody know what he gets, so with an very early bookingstart in spring 2011 it will be enough time to get a clear picture.
